Friday July 19th 1878 I began to make Mother a polinaise out of one of my old wrappers. I dressed to go to Lathrops in the afternoon but it began raining so I took my sewing and sat down at home. i got Mothers polinaise done before night. Weather cooler. Saturday July 20th 1878 We got an early start at the work this morning. I did the ironing before nine oclock then I cleaned the house all over and cut out a dress for May before dinner. Mother was over town till noon. I worked on Mays dress a little after dinner and then started down the river again. It looked so much like rain when I got to the bridge I went up and spent the afternoon with Aunty. I came right home after supper and finished Mays dress. And I finished my skirt I have been so long hemstitching. It did not rain and the weather is still very warm and close. Lee went to the valley and Ed came home with him to stay all night.
