Friday September 6th 1878 The weather was splendid and we [illegible] in all the forenoon getting ready for the social. Aunty Holmes came over before noon. The folks began to come about four oclock. The friends were pretty much all here from the valley. We had a very pleasant time the social was a success they cleared over thirty dollars. Ray Billingsley came here this afternoon and stayed all night. Mr Bailey came back tonight.
