Thursday September 26th 1878 It was a very pleasant day. I did a little washing in the morning. Mother and Hatt were both away all the afternoon. Mother to the fair and Hatt out to Fletchers. I put in all the afternoon at the work ironing, baking the bread and cleaning up the kitchen. My being alone all the afternoon gave me a fine opportunity to think and night found me with a terrible spell of the blues. I knit a little and went to bed early. Otto was up to Morenga all day on business. Friday September 27th 1878 I did some sewing today. I fixed up my black dress that I got wet to the fair last week. Mother & Hatt were both gone to town in the afternoon. Hatt stayed over till evening. I knit a little after we were done the supper work. Saturday September 28th 1878 I went down to the fair this morning to get my things. It was afternoon before I got home. I got two first class premiums. Aunt Linda was here for dinner. I knit a little in the evening.
