Wednesday October 29th 1878 I felt nearly sick today. I helped with the work some and knit in the afternoon and evening. Weather wintry. Thursday October 30th 1878 I did the washing today. Mother went to the valley just before noon. In the afternoon I washed some colored things. Churned and cleaned up the kitchen after the plasterer. In the evening we girls went to Wins to a Hollow Eve party. Had a very pleasant time. Friday November 1st 1878 I helped with the work all the forenoon. In the afternoon Mother and Hatt were both away. I ironed and cleaned lamps and worked all the afternoon. I was awful tired. Saturday November 2nd 1878 I helped with the work till after dinner. Then went to town, called at Mrs. Middletons, Rankins and Prinneys to see Ida Burkett. It was nearly night when I got home. Knit a little in the evening but was so tired I went to bed early.
