Monday January 27th 1879 I did the washing this forenoon and in the afternoon cut out six fine shirts and worked on them till late bed-time. Mother went over to the Opera house tonight to see "Esther." It has been a rainy disagreeable day Tuesday January 28th 1879 We did up the work as quickly as possible and both we girls went to work on the shirts. Aunt Em was here for dinner. We stopping sewing at five oclock Hatt got ready to go to the Masons banquet and I to go to "Esther" I enjoyed it very much indeed. Weather pleasant today. Wednesday January 29th 1879 It was a pleasant day. I ironed this morning and worked till bed-time to finish the shirts Winnie was over awhile in the afternoon and Mother was to town. Rob got his new gold watch last night. Hatt went to Esther tonight. I was not feeling well and went to bed rather early. Had a letter from Pottle he will not come back
