36 Thursday July 4 1935 William brought me over to Gays to get some things and on up to Hatties It formed rain so The Parade could not come to The Park till afternoon There was a continual noise all day. Ott came up to have supper with us and later William & Mary with friend as well as the Swishers came to look at the fire works sent up across the river. Some 4th. Friday July 5 1935 An intensely hot day We felt it very much But the folks kept busy. The man cam in PM to put down the stair carpet. Hattie paid on the contract for work done to Henry Fiske. Rob was home some of the time Ott & Mary here in evening Saturday July 6 1935 I got ready and Rob brought me back to Gays in forenoon. Mrs Gays company gone. A letter from Ida she is in Carthage Ill. sick at Nellies home I finished Mrs Gays crotcheted set. After supper rode with The Wetstones down to the farm. Wrote Ida Sunday July 7 1935 I wrote Lorna & Edith before I went to church with Elmer Anderson. Had dinner here at home. I read papers and slept awhile. Mrs Gay had the two little boys here for the day. Went to ride with the Byingtons late in afternoon in evening wrote Mattie Stitt & Grace Taylor sent for affidavit for the age pension
