Sunday August 4th 19135 I went to church with Eleanor Anderson. Soon after dinner I lay down to sleep. Later I had callers. As small girls they went to school to me the year I was in Delavan. They were Maggie McKee and Laura Short. They live now at Ceder Iowa. I was so glad to see them. I had a ride with The Byingtons in evening. a hot day. Monday August 5th 1935 I wrote a letter to Laura and card to Bertha Budlong a card to Maggie and sent her bag she left here yesterday. William took me up town. I slept some in PM after supper rode with The Byingtons. a hot day. Tuesday August 6th 1935 I was busy here in AM. Hattie came early in PM and stayed till three oclock. I slept awhile after that. spent the evening on the porch. very warm. a short ride with Mary & [Bradley?] Wednesday August 7th 1935 I was crotcheting part of the forenoon. After early dinner Mrs Gay took me with her to Amama and on to Cedar Rapids. I met Mrs Weld to talk to while Mrs Gay did errands. Home at six oclock. Thursday August 8th 1935 I was busy about the house most of the forenoon. Mrs Gay started the washing and did not go to the shop in PM so finished it. I slept awhile and crotcheted on Edna Mitchell's table cover. I wrote Winnie. It has been some cooler today.
