Monday August 19th 1935 A cloudy day. I was busy at home all day. Did some sewing on old muslin. The last of work I have been doing for more than a year. Mrs Gay busy with her furniture here in afternoon. Tuesday August 20th 1935 A hard storm late in the night. some cooler William took me up town. I did a number of errands I waited at Johnson Co Bank Bld for Ott and William brought me home. I sewed most of the PM. Mrs Gay here. A ride with her after supper. Wednesday August 21st 1935 Mrs Gay felt better but did not go to the shop. She had help to do the washing. I was busy with crotchet work. Slept awhile in the afternoon. Thursday August 22nd 1935 I cut out a kimona and sewed on it in AM. Gertrude Taylor here again today. She did ironing. Mrs Gay at the shop in AM. After dinner she went to Amana. I rode out to Coralville. Spent the afternoon with Mrs Jones. Art brought me home. weather fine. letter from Hattie. Friday August 23rd 1935 I sewed most of my spare time today and got my kimona nearly finished. Gertrude here in AM doing the cleaning. I had letters from LeGrand, Winnie, & Emma Herriott. Mrs Gay at the shop most of the day. In evening wrote Mrs Kivett at Creswell oregon. She had sent work of Lois Simpsons death Mch 20 1935.
