Saturday August 24th 1935 I finished my kimona before noon, wrote LeGrand. Mary came for me soon after lunch. I spent the afternoon there with Ott. William brought me home before supper. a letter from Laura. Mr Gay home tonight. fine weather. Sunday August 25th 1935 I wrote Grace Taylor and read the papers. Slept part of the afternoon. Listened to radio. Rob & Cora went to Burlington for Hattie today. Monday August 26th 1935 Cora took me up town and home with her. Later taking Hattie with us went to Cedar Rapids. There was a hard rain about seven oclock. Rob brought me home at nine oclock. Enjoyed the day. Tuesday August 27th 1935 I put in most of the forenoon in the attic going through my things. I worked on Edna's table cover the rest of the time. Had a sleep. Wrote Laura. Wednesday August 28th 1935 I was at home all day busy with different things. Hattie here a little while in the forenoon. She told of their going to The State Fair yesterday. She saw the Williams girls. wrote Emma Herriott Thursday August 29th 1935 I was busy here till in PM. Hattie came down and Mrs Newcomb & Deane came to take us down to Stevens. a pleasant call. It rained so we came home by Hills. Letters from Mrs Falk and Edna Mitchell. I wrote Winnie in the evening.
