Monday September 30th 1935 The girls did a big washing and other work. They got a stove up in the parlor. I was busy in my room. Mrs Randolph here in the evening. Tuesday October 1st 1935 I was here all AM. Laura took me over to spend the PM with Lizzie Duncan. She came for me at 5:30. Spent the evening at Focklers. letters from Hattie & Winnie. Wednesday October 2nd 1935 Laura took Mrs Allen to Peoria in AM. After lunch we went to the cemetery and to call at Browns and Woods. Did errands in town. I wrote to Hattie & Mrs Gay. Thursday October 3rd 1935 It was a cold windy day. Laura took some ladies to Peoria and was gone all day. Edith busy in the kitchen with fruit. I sat in the parlor and crotcheted. Friday October 4th 1935 weather cold but no wind. Edith busy going over the house. Laura and I in the kitchen. Late in the PM wrote letters to LeGrand & Emma Herriott, cards to Grace Taylor & Art Mc--. They got the big stove up. went up town. Saturday October 5th 1935 The girls entertained a luncheon party for Mrs Allen today 14 at table. I was one of her guests. I enjoyed meeting the ladies. So many were old friends. The luncheon was very nice. Late in the PM Laura and I went up town. weather some better.
