Thursday October 31st 1935 A cloudy rainy day. I was up part of the time. I went down stairs to supper to see Coras table decorations for halloween. Eleven years today Vene was buried. wrote card to Laura. Friday November 1st 1935 I was up most of the AM. Read the papers. Rob & Cora to Cedar Rapids. The girls to a reception late in afternoon. Saturday November 2nd 1935 I was up all forenoon. Rob did not come to lunch. A crowd in town for Iowa-Indiana foot-ball game. We listened in here. It started to rain late in afternoon. Sunday November 3rd 1935 It rained all day. Hattie went to church. I did not get up till noon. Every body but Hattie slept in PM. William & Mary here. Monday November 4th 1935 I had that tickling cough last night. Did not rest well. Dr Ned here to see me. Cora down town in AM. I slept in PM. Weather still rainy. Letter from Laura. Tuesday November 5th 1935 I fell better today. The girls down town all forenoon. They brought me some things I needed from Gays. I was up most of the PM. Rob & the girls to a show in the evening, William Mary & Buddy here in the evening. Wednesday November 6th 1935 I sat up in forenoon. Wrote some in diary and read the papers. The girls had their crotchet club but I did not try to go down stairs. In bed most of the PM.
