5 Saturday January 8th 1876. We were rather late getting the work done When we had dinner nearly ready Aunt Sarah came. She started home about three oclock I put all the time I could get to sew working on my dress. We were late getting the supper work done up and I practiced a little in the evening. Weather pleasant. Sunday January 9th 1876. I felt just as lazy today as I generally do on Sunday I read all the time I had aside from helping with the house-work In the evening I finished a letter that Mother had begun writing to Charlie. Monday January 10th 1876 I thought I would sew all I possibly could this morning, and I did not accomplish any thing for the machine would not work good. I went to town in the afternoon got a waist and sacque pattern. I was at Wins a little while and at McCalls. I was so tired that I did not do much but read at night.
