15 Saturday January 29th 1876. I came home about half past nine this morning and helped finish up the work then cut out the skirt of Hatties dress and worked at it all the time I possibly could till supper time Mother was down town this afternoon I played cards in the evening. Mr Bently & Ott beat Rob and I at seven-up. Monday January 31st 1876. A splendid winter day. I got at the washing early and got it done by noon. After dinner Mother went to town and I over to Fletchers to see Anna. Had a real pleasant little visit. When I came home helped with the work and brought the clothes in and rolled them up to iron tomorrow I practiced a little and wrote a letter to Lou Rieves. I had a long letter from Hatt. One month of the year gone.
