16. Tuesday February 1st 1876. A cold windy disagreeable day a striking contrast to yesterday. I got the ironing done before noon. I sewed on Hatties dress all the afternoon and practiced a little in the evening. I had a letter from Will Reed. Wednesday February 2nd 1876 Weather still cold but not so bad as yesterday. I put in the whole forenoon cleaning up the house. Emma Moon was here for dinner. I went to town in the afternoon and found it very cold and chilly I was at McCalls and Winnies. I did not get home till nearly night. I practiced a little in the evening. I had a note from Hattie and wrote to her Thursday February 3rd 1876 I helped do the work this forenoon. I had a letter from Charlie telling us of the death of Miss Ann Harris. I sewed a little in the afternoon and practiced a little in the evening. Weather still keeps cold.
