night. We had a very pleasant time and started home at just twelve oclock. Sunday February 6th, 1876. Mother went to the valley today and Hattie and I did the work. She went to the valley with Uncle Will in the afternoon. I did not change my dress at all today. Wrote a letter to Will Reed in the evening. A very pleasant day. Monday February 7th, 1876 A splendid day. I washed this forenoon and while we were eating dinner Charlie McCall came in and told me Ann wanted to see me at Sally Harts this afternoon. I helped do up the work and went over. We had a jolly talk there and arranged for a party for McCalls next Friday night. We are going to give part of the folks a surprise. Mr and Mrs Robinson and Gill Fletcher and wife spent the evening here. We played cards and visited. I did not get to practice any. Wrote a note to Mr Chase in the evening.
