22. Monday February 14th 1876. A cold disagreeable day. I was right at home and sewing some on Hatties dress. Mother went to town in the afternoon. She changed white slippers I got for Hattie and I Saturday. I have not felt well today I have coughed myself nearly to death. Tuesday February 15th 1876. I have not felt any better today than I did yesterday. I sewed some and in the afternoon while Mother went to town I cleaned up the house a little. Was too sick to any thing in the evening. Winnie was over just a little while late in the afternoon. She brought me an orange. Wednesday February 16th 1876. I wrote a note to Hattie in the morning. I sewed in the forenoon, and had a letter from Al. Mother washed in the afternoon I helped a little with the work and thought I felt some better. But was much worse in the evening. Weather still cold.
