37 carpet rags all the afternoon and worked on a mat most of the evening. This is the last day of this term. Dick went home to stay a week. And Mr Fry went tonight he will not come back next term. I had a letter from Lou Reeves today. Weather wintry. Thursday March 30th 1876. I mended the clothes and put them away and then finished braiding my mat. After dinner I sewed on Mothers over-skirt and waist. She was down to McGoverns awhile. I helped get the supper and in the evening I wrote a letter to Aunt Catherine. Weather cold. Friday March 31st 1876. We girls began early to clean the boys rooms got it all done before noon and the carpet out and the floor cleaned in the other room After dinner we finished up the work and got our dresses changed before four oclock. We expected a new boarder this afternoon but he did not come. I was very tired at night and read all the evening. Weather pleasanter.
