52 Sunday May 7th 1876. A cold gloomy day I was not at all well I was in bed most of the forenoon. I read a little in the afternoon and practiced in the evening. Monday May 8th 1876. I did not feel well today and done nothing but help a little with the work. The boys was over today and finished the carpenter work. Tuesday May 9th 1876 I felt some better today. Mother went to the valley to see how grand-father was. We girls did a large washing and ironed some of the things. When Mother came home she said they were expecting Uncle Jacob tonight. Her and Rob and I walked over to the depot. I went down home with Uncle Jim and stayed all night. Wednesday May 10th 1876. About eleven oclock Uncle Jim and I went down to the valley Uncle Jacob did not come this morning. I helped Aunt Emma
