54. Saturday May 13th 1876. Mother came home from the valley this morning. I was busy doing house-work till nearly supper time, Mrs Palmer was over till after supper We ate in the new dining room for the first time tonight. After supper we girls all went over with Ann and staid till train time. Lee came over and we went to the train. After we got over there we found Aunt Lydia had come on the train from the west and gone to the valley. I telegraphed to Charlie before I came home. Sunday May 14th 1876. Mother and Hattie went to the valley today And Lee and Rob were down on hose-back in the afternoon. I did not feel at all well and laid down after dinner to take a sleep. I had only just got to sleep when Otto waked me up saying Mr Chapman and Flora Mygatt were here I entertained them all the afternoon. After getting the supper all over I wrote a short letter to Will Reed.
