76. Wednesday July 5th 1876. We did a washing this morning we got it all done by noon. We were sitting very composedly sewing about the middle of the afternoon Mr Witter and son came for us to go in the country. Of course we went and we spent a splendid evening. I never saw such clever people. It was such a lovely moonlight night we went to one of the neighbors' to eat cherries. Thursday July 6th 1876. We girls came back to town about eleven oclock and got ready to take dinner at The Show House. Charlie McCall entertained us a part of the afternoon We were on top of the old capitol building and all around on the new grounds. We then called on Mrs Judge Miller. From there Lou went home and I called on Al's Sister I found her a very pleasant little woman. Charlie came to take us out riding in the evening. It was a splendid night. We went over on the west side
