135. Tuesday December 26th 1876. We girls gave both rooms up stairs a thorough cleaning up. It took a great part of the day. Mr Neill and his Mother were here for supper. We young folks all went over to Wins to spend the evening. We played cards, Ate a wonderful big supper And had a regular roaring time, pleasant Eve. Wednesday December 27th 1876 We did nothing this forenoon but get the dining room ready for Will Chalfant as we are going to have a new floor laid. He worked at it till evening. I went to town in the afternoon and got things to do our baking for Friday night. Went to bed very early. Had a postal from Lizzie Thursday December 28th 1876. We did all our cake baking today. And after the work was done in the evening did the frosting while Mother dressed the chickens. We had splendid luck with our cake. All hands went to bed early tonight. Weather still pleasant, how I hope it will continue.
