139 Monday January 1st 1877. I did not feel very well this morning and did not work. After dinner I dressed and went to town. Was at Middletons, McCalls and at Wins. I got home just at dark. After helping through with the supper work I knit all the evening. Rather a quiet new years day. Weather cold. Tuesday January 2nd 1877. I washed today and was nearly all day at it. Fred Anderson was here in the forenoon to invite We young folks to a party tomorrow Eve we could not go. Mother went to town in the afternoon. And Charlie McCall was here. It was nearly supper time when I got through washing I knit a few moments before time to get supper. Mr Cattrell came home this morning and Mr Gardner tonight. John McCollister came here this afternoon to board. We had music in the evening I wrote a letter to Miss Lewis tonight Weather still very cold.
