159. Monday February 26th 1877. I did the work up this morning and got the washing started by dinner time. It took all the afternoon to finish up the work as we were baking bread. Weather just lovely. Maggie Lathrop was here this evening to invite we young folks to a surprise party at Billingsleys Wednesday evening. I had a postal and a pattern from Lou today. It was late when we got the supper dishes washed for we had a dance on the porch tonight. Tuesday February 27th 1877 I ironed this morning and helped with the work all day As Hattie did not get home I sat down a little while in the afternoon. Went to bed early. Wednesday February 28th 1877. I did up the work and baked cake in the forenoon. I sat down and sewed some in the afternoon. We sent for Hatt and Cattrell and Rob went with we girls to the surprise party at Billingsleys. We had a splendid time.
