207. Monday July 2nd 1877. It was a rainy disagreeable day. I was just absolutely sick from my trip yesterday I knit a little and helped do the work. I went to bed before dark. The men did not work on the house. Tuesday July 3rd 1877. I made Lee a pair of linin pants this forenoon and cut some carpet rags in the afternoon Intensely warm! About five oclock we girls dressed and went to Billingsleys to take supper with Ray before he starts for the west. Rob came over and spent the evening we had a very pleasant time. Wednesday July 4th 1877. "The glorious fourth" dawned upon us this morning in an almost intolerable heat which continued through the day and evening. We all spent most of the day in the park visiting with our folks there. Hatt and I took dinner at Wins. She stayed there till evening.
