218. Wednesday July 18th 1877. We washed this morning and I did some work on the carpet rags. Mother went to town in the afternoon and got paint for the kitchen. Hatt put one coat on the wood-work And after supper I went over the floor. As usual I was very tired when night came and glad enough to go to bed. Thursday July 19th 1877. It took till noon to get the ironing done After dinner I mended the clothes and put them away and was ripping up a dress waist I was fixing for myself. Mother sent a couple of our beds to be renovated this afternoon. I put another coat of paint on the floor tonight. Weather really cold. Friday July 20th 1877. They brought back the beds this morning and took two more. I went to town in the afternoon and got new ticking for two. Uncle Jim brought me home. Mrs Trowbridge spent the afternoon here. I did more painting after supper. Winnie was over
