217. Tuesday July 31st 1877. It took nearly all the forenoon. After an early dinner Father and the boys went out to the field to work. I was working at the carpet rags in the afternoon. About four oclock it came up a terrible storm, and the folks got very wet coming home. We got supper over the work done up and went to bed early. Wednesday August 1st 1877. We did some more washing this forenoon and I worked at the carpet rags all the afternoon. Jen Sauk and Anna M_ called here in the afternoon. The men were gone to the field and did not get home till real late. Frank Luse and Maggie Lathrop were here in the evening to invite Rob and Hatt to a Croquet party tomorrow night. Mother is not at all well. It was a month today since we went to the basket meeting. If I could only be as happy all my life as I was that day
