222. Tuesday August 14th 1877. We ironed this forenoon and Hatt and Ott got the things in from the barn before dinner. In the afternoon We regulated the garret and ripped a couple of carpets ready to wash. I mended the clothes and put them away and we girls began piecing a delaine quilt. Later I went over to see about having our carpet wove. The boys were working in the field till late. Wrote a postal to Jennie Sauk. Wednesday August 15th 1877. We girls helped with the work today and finished our quilt. I went to town late in the afternoon and got a big roll of dry goods and carried them home. The boys worked late. I got a letter from Vene with all three of the childrens pictures. Thursday August 16th 1877. We girls washed carpet till noon. And in the afternoon visited May Billingsley. Had a delightful time. Started to ride home with the boys on a load of hay and we had a big time the team balked at the gate. It was late before we got the work done up.
