231 Sunday September 9th 1877. It was a rainy day and I put in the time writing letters. I wrote to Pete, Lizzie and Mrs Campbell. Win came over just before supper. I went to bed early. We have lots of work to do the next few days. Wrote to Cousin Venie Monday September 10th 1877 I washed all the windows up stairs and the wood-work in the kitchen before noon and Hatt and Rob put down the carpets up stairs. In the afternoon Hatt and I papered the kitchen and cleaned the floor. We went to bed early we were so tired. We children slept up stairs for the first time. We were just getting to sleep when Mr Cattrell came. Tuesday September 11th 1877. We were busy putting up beds and putting in some furniture that came from town. We had several applications for board today A friend of Mr Hamiltons came this evening. And when Mr Cattrell came home in the afternoon Mr Chambers and Owens came with him and they
