238. Wednesday September 26th 1877. I was busy about the work all day. The girls went to town and did not get home till evening. I was tired and cross and went to bed early. I had a letter from Baily today. Thursday September 27th 1877. I worked about the house all day. Rob and the girls started to the fair at eleven oclock. And Mother right away after dinner. I did up all the work and changed my dress then began to make an apron to send to Burlington for a present. Win was here for supper and the boys were down from up stairs to spend the evening. Friday September 28th 1877. Rob and I put down the stair carpet and part of the oil-cloth in both halls. And I finished the apron before dinner. In the afternoon Bird and I went down to the fair. I got the first premium on my pillow cases and the second on my tidy. When we got home found callers here Mrs Williams and Mrs Dowdney. In the evening we young folks all went to society, the programme was splendid.
