Tuesday July 17- 1934 We had breakfast and was ready to start at 7 oclock drove into Washington for Mrs Darely. It rained part of the forenoon Had early lunch in Kerkuk stopped in Carthage to see The Burnells. Did not see Betty [&]? husband reached home at 5. oclock by way of Pekin. I was tired Wednesday July 18- 1934 The girls busy with washing and other work. I wrote Hattie slept in PM After supper a long ride in the country taking Rebecca Davidson with us. getting warmer. Thursday July 19- 1934 The girls got the ironing done by noon. We took Lena to Peenia in PM to get a Bus for home. I rested at "The Piene Marquette" white the girls did errands. very hot. Friday July 20- 1934 a very hot day. The girls getting things ready to go to Harry Words to anniversary picinic We left at four oclock It was a pleasant gathering I met many I know. Saturday July 21st- 1934 a very hot day. The girls busy with their work. I rested in PM and read some. After supper they went up town in the car. But I rather stay here on the porch Sunday July 22- 1934 Still hot. Lorna went to SS. but did not stay for church. Edith did stay. I slept some in the afternoon. I feel the heat terribly I am not very well. The evening on the porch.
