Tuesday September 4 - 1934 I had letter from Hattie written at Chillicothe. Mrs Gay took me out to Ida Andersons for the P.M. After supper was out in the car with her again. Wednesday September 5 - 1934 I was reading most of my spare time Dr Roberts here in forenoon. It rained most of the day and evening. A long letter from Mattie Stitt. The folks had been there. Thursday September 6 - 1934 I rode up town with Mrs Gay paid bill at Means & Light Co. Was at Dr Ned Smith's office. Walked on down home. Card from Ida Read in P.M. Mrs Gay took me out in the car after supper. The Byingtons and Hattie got home from Ohio at 8:30 I wrote cards to Birdie Winnie Lorna Mattie Stitt in the evening. weather fine. Friday September 7 - 1934 Ott called early to say with his mail on the desk he found a letter from Bonnie Fletcher that Frank had died Aug 27. I wrote Ida's H. D. Rowe card from Birdie. Hattie here for the afternoon. A fine day. Saturday September 8 - 1934 Another nice day. Mrs Gay had Mrs Welsh here to do cleaning. I was sewing some and reading in a book. It is 54 years today since John & Hattie were married, and Thr 6 was Frank Fletchers birthday It was also May BIllingsleys I remember they celebrated the date at Billingsleys once.
