Wednesday June 2- 1931 I rested in the AM. Went down to have lunch with Birdie. We came on up here. The Grimes Girls here for a call. A warm day. Went to bed early. Thursday June 4- 1931 I went down to The Burlington by taxi in time for lunch before The Bus left at 11.15. Had a wait in Peoria. Went on by train. The Girls met me. Spent the evening on the porch. A rain and cooler. Friday June 5- 1931 Wrote Hattie. The man came at 12.15 to take us to a luncheon given by Lizzie Duncan & Birdie Hatten It was a fine meal given up town. We spent the PM at Lizzies Later the man brought the girls new car and took us for a ride. It stormed in the evening The Crabb bank robbed last night. Saturday June 6- 1931 The girls busy about the place most of the day I wrote Martie & Cousin Jen I slept some. The girls up town late in the afternoon a neighbor drove. Sunday June 7- 1931 We were at church. found Harry & Mabel here after dinner took a ride in the new car. They went home before night. We went to church in evening Monday June 8- 1931 Edith did washing. The girls both took lessons in driving. I stopped at Lizzie Duncans in PM. She in bed Mrs [Fochler] & Frances spent the evening here weather cool we sat by oil stove in the house
