Saturday August 15- 1931 I went to Stevens with Le Grand. I was 11.30 when we got home. I stopped at Library. I rested in afternoon LeGrand sold his car today. I read in the evening. Sunday August 16- 1931 We all went up to Hatties to dinner as they wanted dinner early we did not go to church. Rob went to Davenport in PM. We went to the cemetery with flowers for Fannie and The Byingtons brought me home about four oclock. So much to be thankful for to be together. I read in evening very warm Monday August 17- 1931 I gave the rooms a good cleaning in AM. had letters from Emma Herriott. wrote Ott Seibert & Lois Simpson slept some in afternoon. Evening on the porch Warm. Tuesday August 18- 1931 I did some washing in AM. Wrote Will & Emily Bremner after dinner. Slept in PM. Went to a picture show in the evening with Hattie & Cora. Warm day Wednesday August 19- 1931 I did a little sewing and ironing in forenoon. I was ready when The Whetstones came to take me to Byingtons to a luncheon Mary was giving for Mrs [Shafter] & Dorothy A pleasant affair. It rained soon after I got home LeGrand took Ott to Des Moines today. back home at 6-oclock. I had letters from Laura. Winnie & Mrs Falk Wrote Laura. Mrs Gartner her Mother and Mrs Gay were in Davenport today. I read in the evening.
