Saturday August 29- 1931 I came down to the rooms with Rob early. a letter from Lois Simpson wrote to her and Le Grand. Mary came in the afternoon and with Hattie we went to a picture show. Rob in Des Moines. Sunday August 30- 1931 Rob took us to SS & Church. Soon after dinner we drove to Burlington a great deal of the way over the new paving on the west side of the river Spent an hour with Birdie, had supper in Mt Pleasant and home at eight oclock. Mrs Barber spent the evening with us. Monday August 31st 1931 I came down early with Rob to can peaches slept awhile in PM had letter from Winnie wrote to her and Mattie Stitt a warm day. Rob took me home with him at supper time and later his Mother & me out to [Schencks] to a childrens circus. We got home just before a heavy rain Tuesday September 1st 1931 I came down town with Rob after dinner. I did some errands was at Otts office Rob away back by taxi at supper time. We read and went to bed late. It was 20 years today Mother died & Mr Bremner buried Wednesday September 2- 1931 I came down by taxi and put up peaches in AM letter from The Culbertsons and LeGrand. Rested in afternoon went up to Hatties by taxi. spent evening reading.
