Monday October 26- 1931 I wrote Alberta Joe Williams Roxie [Robaneov] & Mattie Stitt I talked with Mrs Searles and Caroline Peckham Read after lunch. at 4.30 Mrs Searles came to call and Mr Searles & Herbert came for her. Lizzie Felkner spent evening with me. Tuesday October 27- 1931 I answered phone calls, talked to Caroline Peckham Did my packing. Had early lunch and went to the 12.30 Santa Fe train in The Bus. A pleasant half days ride. Saw moonlight on The Colorado river just before bed time, soon after passing "Needles" Wednesday, October 28- 1931 The day passed comfortably. When I got up found some of the folks gone on a sight seeing trip. We waited an hour for them Desolate country to look at for the day. Mailed letter to Ida at Alberqueque. late supper at Harvey house. Early to bed. Thursday October 29- 1931 Was in Denver at 9:30. Left at 11- AM. on C R I [rrd?] a sand storm through Colorado. Pleasant people on the train. It was late when we all went to bed. Friday October 30- 1931 Reached Des Moines at 7. AM. Had breakfast and later took a taxi to The Williams Girls. They were quite torn up with putting in a furnace. I came home on the evening train. Came right to my rooms and went to bed. Such a delightful trip & visit Letters from Winnie Ida and from Girls of Piketon.
