Thursday January 14- 1932. Some better today Mrs Gay & Aunty gave my rooms a good cleaning in AM and she sent me up a nice dinner. An unpleasant day with freezing rain The Whetstones to a Red meeting. William & Mary in Cedar Rapids Dr Ned Smith came at supper time with other medicine Wrote Ida, Mattie Stitt & Lucy Clute Woodworth. Friday January 15- 1932 I felt comfortable some of the time. Did some reading & sewed some. The streets are very icy none of the folks here. The Delavan paper says The Baldwin Bank closed wrote Laura in evening Saturday January 16- 1932 I felt better today than for weeks I fixed a gown and some other sewing Hattie here in PM. a letter from Laura I read in the evening. still Ice & rain Sunday January 17- 1932. I put in a wretched day. Ott here late in afternoon Hattie came and got some supper for me. Rob came for her soon after. William & Mary called. Early to bed. Monday January 18- 1932 I rested fairly well. A nice day. The ice gone from the streets Letter from LeGrand. rested & read some. Tuesday January 19- 1932 Hattie came to stay a few days but went home for the night There was so much talk today about another of the banks closing. Ott, Rob & Cora as well as William & Mary here. letter from Laura & Winnie I wrote LeGrand, Laura & Edith & Alice Robinson
