Tuesday March 22- 1932 Early in the forenoon I began to suffer with pain in my side and back. I was on the couch most of the day I did little telephoning. Went to bed early Wednesday March 23- 1932 I managed to get some breakfast. I lay down till noon. Hattie came with Rob early in afternoon Dr Ned Smith came later and gave a thorough examination The last trouble he thinks comes from an abscess on the left kidney. Rob came for Hattie. I felt better got my supper and wrote Birdie. Letter from Mrs Falk. Thursday March 24- 1932. I was alone all day I was lying down much of the time I took my medicine and read some. Ott William & Mary were here a little while after The Communion service at the Church. a letter from Winnie and wrote her in the evening. The snow going slowly Friday March 25- 1932. Hattie came down with Rob early. I got our dinners William & Mary here she brought me some books. Soon after dinner Rob & Cora here. Then Ida Anderson. Later Ott & William, and Rob came for Hattie. Letters from Ida and Emma Herriott paid Mrs Gay 30.00 last of rent Saturday March 26- 1932. Some better today. Letter from Alice Condon. her sister Emma still in hospital Later in the day had so much pain. Hattie here I lay on the couch all P.M. Felt able to get some supper. Read a little in the evening. Ott here at 5. oclock. Hattie home late in taxi.
