Friday January 25 1929 I got up and things ready to leave for Chicago in plenty of time The regular train was late. But a special enabled me to reach there two hours late Winnie met me and we went out by taxi Wrote Hattie and finished letter to Lydia. was tired went to bed early Saturday January 26 1929 I rested most of the day. Did some telephoning We went to Fields of an errand late in the afternoon and on to the Sherman Hotel to the Delavan Club dinner I enjoyed every moment of my stay It was such a pleasure to meet these people Some were there from Delavan. The meal, the program and all was so good. We came home by street car at 11.15 Sunday January 27 1929 It was late when we got up. We rested and read till afternoon. Mabel McDougall called to know if I was coming out. I will go later. We went down to Orchestra Hall to hear Fosdick preach. The Lorsgards brought us home. Monday January 28 1929 We went down town in AM and to the United Artists to such a good show. had lunch and went to see Joe and Emma by Bus. about four oclock came back to Mrs Doyles for a call. It was late when we got home. A card from Lydia. We had a rather full day weather cold. walking very bad.
