Tuesday January 29,-1929 I called Mabel McDougall this morning. [Womer?] has had a bad spell and may not live long. After lunch Winnie & I went out to see Louie [Bremer?], and came on down to the city where I bought a clock. It was eight when we got home. I wrote Lydia in forenoon. Wednesday January 30,-1929 I called Mabel. She said her Father was very bad. The family was there. Winnie came with me to the station by street car. I had a comfortable trip home. Rob met me. It was raining very hard. Hattie was here at my rooms. She had been to Jim Folsoms funeral. She went home with Rob at suppertime. I spent evening here letter from Nellie and Mattie Fletcher Thursday January 31,-1929 I was busy about the rooms most of the AM. It was a very cold day. Hattie called me at noon to say Ott had seen in a paper that Matt [Owens?] fell from a hospital window and was killed. I wrote Winnie, and Mr Pittsford sending him check for dues to Delavan Chicago Club. Friday February 1st,-1929 I did some working and gave my rooms a going over. I had such a good letter from Lydia. Soon after dinner I went over to Ott's by taxi. Fannie and I had an afternoon visit. William brought me home. I bought a book that I read most of the evening weather a bit more moderate though still very cold.
