Thursday April 11th 1929 It rained so I did not get away for Piketon till after lunch. stopped at Piketon House. Made some calls before supper. read and rested in the evening. Friday April 12th 1929 I left for Portsmouth at 9.20 and found Cousin Sallie Reed about as when I saw her last. I phoned to some others. Had lunch at Washington Hotel and started back at 1.30. When I got there Bess Stilt was ready to take me to the far where Great-grandfather McCollister and wife are buried. Spent evening at Matties. to bed early Saturday April 13th 1929 I packed my things in AM. Wrote Rob so I could send my check home. Mattie had to go to a meeting at 2.30 so I went to the station alone. The wait in Cincinnatti not tedious as I met a lady to talk to. Got in my sleeper at 10.30 Sunday April 14th 1929 I reached here at 7.15 and went out to Winnies. Wrote Hattie. We went to Moody Church in PM. Then stopped to see where Winnie is going to move May 1st. Monday April 15th 1929 Home all AM. In the afternoon out to Maywood to see Will &r Flora. Such a nice ride. In the evening Emma Herriott called up. She said they saw in The Delavan paper that Maxwell McCollister had died at Rochester Minnesota. buried in Topeka.
