Friday August 30th 1929 Edith Had to go to Pekin and Laura to Peoria. I got some lunch for Lydia and I took a nap in afternoon. The girls home early. I read in a book part of the time. Saturday August 31st 1929 Harry & Mabel came early. Harry took me up to the headquarters room and later to the Park where I found the rest of the family. We all had dinner there. I wend home alone after the program and wrote some letters & cards. After supper we went to The Armory to listen to a program and something of a reception after. We were all of us ready for bed when we got home. What a day! What a day! Sunday September 1st 1929 It was 18 year today since Mother died. Harry took us to S S. There was a regular reception after church. Soon after dinner there were callers. Ed Stubbs & wife and Dickey Templeton. In the evening the Woolfs & Tishie. Laura came tonight. Monday September 2nd 1929 I rode out to the cemetery when Mr. Albers took Edith to school. When I got back packed ready to come away. Mr Albers took me to the station. Went to Burlington by bus from Peoria. Spent the night with Birdie at Mrs. Winslows. Tuesday September 3rd 1929 I came down to The Burlington Hotel. Had lunch with Birdie & on to Iowa City by Bus. Was up to Hatties for supper, back with Rob. Letters from Emma Spence & LeGrand. Ott out of town. Stayed at home. Went to bed early. Very warm.
