Monday September 9th 1929 I worked all forenoon about the house. Put up tomatoes. Ott here for dinner. I slept and read in the afternoon. Read in a book in the evening. Tuesday September 10th 1929 I went up town in the A.M. Took fur to have made over. Mary came after dinner with Biddy and we went to a show. Then rode to the cemetery and to the station to see about ticket west. Letter from Lydia. Read in the evening. Wednesday September 11th 1929 Late getting up. Did mending. Wrote Emma Herriott and Edith Whetstone in A.M. Mary came at one oclock and took me home with her. She brought me home at 5 oclock with some things I had. I read in the evening and wrote Emma Spence, The Whetstones. Letter from Mattie Stitt. Thursday September 12th 1929 A chill day. Was up town in the A.M. Mailed an Air Plane letter to Kate Rowe. Letter from Winnie. Mary took me to Ida Andersons early in the P.M. I was over to see Aunt Emma too. Met Gertrude Smith as I walked on home. Wrote Lydia & Mrs Doyle in evening. Friday September 13th 1929 Still chill and cloudy. Busy with things at home in A.M. The morning paper tells Anna Klein died yesterday at three o'clock. Mary came for me at one oclock. I took book to Lou Hughes. Later I went with Mary to Washington to meet Ilo. Home at 8 oclock. The Gays home. Hattie and Cora in Cedar Rapids.
