Monday September 23rd 1929 I visited with Mattie in AM and did some writing. Had letters ready for Lydia, L D L, LeGrand, Hattie & Winnie. I then packed things ready to go. After supper Gerta went with me to the 6.10 train. Tuesday September 24th 1929 The ride along the Columbia River beautiful. I had a good nights rest and breakfast on the train.
