Monday May 5th 1930
I had letters from Laura and Winnie. She wrote
she might come out the last of the week. I
wrote her to come. Ida and I went to a show
in afternoon. Very warm. Spent evening reading.
Tuesday May 6th 1930
I did some washing and other work. Minnie
Showers here for a call. I got things ready for
supper and rested awhile. Hattie came late in
the PM. Washed all evening. It had showered
all day. It rained so we could not go to S. U. I. play. Williams birthday.
Wednesday May 7th 1930
Wills birthday. I went up to the church awhile in
AM. We rested in the afternoon and Ott took us
home with him for supper. Mary went with us to S. U. I. play.
Thursday May 8th 1930
Ida had letter from Nellie, report about Harry
far from good. I wrote Laura and Mrs Doyle. We
rested in PM. After supper walked down to Jennie
Sterritts. Then on to Jeff Mc--- They brought us home.
Friday May 9th 1930
The Whetstones took us to Cedar Rapids. Had lunch
and went to see "The Big Pond" (a picture). Stopped at
Hatties for supper. Ott there too. He brought us home.
We both lay down awhile. While Ida got ready to
go. I made her a cup of tea. William & Mary came
to take us to the depot for her to go on the 11.55 train.
I was very busy and glad to go to bed. A full day. Hatties birthday.
