Tuesday September 30th 1930 Reached Portland at 8.00 AM and left at 8.10. Had a pleasant days ride to Grants Pass. The scenery the last part of the ay was wonderful. Maurice & Eugene met me at 6 PM. Evening visiting with the family. Wednesday October 1st 1930 A beautiful day. I wrote Ida, Hattie, Ott Seibert & Paul Whetstone. Letter from Kate Rowe. Rested and visited with the family in evening. Thursday October 2nd 1930 I read some and wrote Lizzie Duncan. left Grants Pass for Los Angeles at 6.03. Maurice took me to the station. Another pleasant visit. Friday October 3rd 1930 I changed cars at Port Costa Calif early in the forenoon. A new trip to Los Angeles. When I reached there at 10.40 went directly to The Rosslyn. I found letters there from Ott, Hattie & Mrs Moore. Saturday October 4th 1930 I wrote Hattie, Mrs Gay (sent check) and notes to Belle, Mary, Anna McCollister & Marnie Briggs. After I had moved into 3004 from the room I had last night I unpacked and out things in place. The rooms is just like the one I had on the floor above last year. I had breakfast here and the other two meals at "The Wilcox." Slept awhile in PM. Was down stairs awhile in evening.
