Sunday October 5th 1930 I talked to Ott Seibert and went out there by street car. Jack Brown came and took us for a long ride. We had dinner at his house in San Pedro. Then a wonderful ride back over the Palos Verdes hills. I got back to the hotel at 7.30. Letter from Hattie. Monday October 6th 1930 I went out to breakfast. Read the paper. Wrote Grace Taylor, Mrs Doyle, Mattie Fletcher & Will Work. Rested in PM. Marnie Briggs phoned me. I wrote Lizzie Fletcher & The Culbertsons. Evening down stairs. Tuesday October 7th 1930 Went out to breakfast. Phone Ott Seibert. Paul Whetstone came while I was out to lunch. Rested in PM and wrote LeGrand. Charlie & Grace Taylor here for the evening. Wednesday October 8th 1930 The Seiberts came early in the forenoon and brought Iowa City papers. Ott & I had lunch together and went to see George Arliss in Old English. I came back alone. Letter from Will Work. Wrote Mrs Moore. Thursday October 9th 1930 Lizzie Felkner called me up early. Paul Whetstone here for a call. I wrote Aunt Emma & Mrs Doyle. It was late when I went out to lunch. A letter from Winnie. I read Iowa City papers. Then wrote Birdie & The Mason Girls. Supper in coffee room.
