Thursday October 30th 1930 There was snow on the ground this AM. Wrote Winnie & Ott Seibert. Left Des Moines in time to reach home at 2:15. Rob met me and I stopped at my own place. Found mail here. I unpacked things and at 4 oclock The Whetstones called to take me over to Ott. William & Mary here in Davenport. But got home at supper time. A pleasant evening. Home at 9 oclock. Friday October 31st 1930 I put things away. Wrote Ella Nagle, Lizzie Felkner & Lois Simpson. Slept awhile. Mary here for a call. Mrs Gay up stairs in the evening. Wrote Joe Williams. Saturday November 1st 1930 I did some washing. Ott here for dinner. He told me Mrs. Teeters died this morning leaving a young baby. I went to phone office in PM and to library for a book. Went home with Rob for supper. Hattie & Ott went to Whites to a meeting. William & Mary came for me. Sunday November 2nd 1930 Ott took me to church. I had dinner at home. At 2:30 The Byingtons came. We got Hattie and went to Cedar Rapids to Vespers to hear a man the Presbyterians may call to come here. Hattie had supper with one. Rob came for her. I read in a book and visited with The Gays. Monday November 3rd 1930 I did ironing & fixed sleves in my red dress. Slept awhile. I have not felt well today. I wrote Cousin Jen before supper. Read in the evening.
