Friday December 9th 1927 The AM soon passed. Soon after lunch Winnie went with me to The Union Station where I took the train for Delavan. Edith met me to say Lydia was not well and Jennie Culbertson wanted me with her. Went there. Saturday December 10th 1027 Went over to see Lizzie Duncan in forenoon. Lydia better no fear of any contagion. I had Mr Albers take me over stopped at the florists and got three dozen pink carnations with plenty of green for the church tomorrow. Evening visiting. I could not have done this nine years ago today Will died. Sunday December 11th 1927 Laura & Edith went to S S and church with me. The flowers were pretty. I gave some to friends. We brought the rest home. Laura had dinner ready. Read and visited. Monday December 12th 1927 A foggy drizzling day. I packed a box of things Edith gave me for a rug. Wrote Hattie & Winnie and got them all to the office. Read in a book. Lydia better. The anniversary of Will & Ediths burial. Mary Woolfs birthday. Tuesday December 13th 1927 Still raining. I thought to go home but gave it up. I read in a book. Wrote Lizzie Lindley and visited with the girls. Wednesday December 14th 1927 A bright day. Lena did washing. I helped a little with the work. I read some. Wrote Mrs Doyle. Laura and I went to the M E Church supper. Then on up town saw many I knew and had such a good time.
