Thursday December 15th 1927 I really did not do much. Read and wrote to Ida. I got my things ready to come away at 5.20. Mr Albers and Edith took me to the station. A quick change at both Peoria and Rock Island. Was here at 12.30. My rooms were warm. Soon went to bed. Friday December 16th 1927 Late getting up did some telephoning. Went up town for things needed. Met Rob. Did some writing in PM. This book and letters to Mattie Stitt, Mattie Fletcher, and Lydia. Very cold. Hattie here for supper and we went up town together. She went home in taxi. Read papers. Saturday December 17th 1927 I was busy about the house in AM. Mary came to take me over to Ott and brought me home. Nice visit. I stopped up town and got cards. Wrote Edith Whetstone and Henry Able. Sunday December 18th 1927 Very cold. Ott took me to church. We took Hattie part way home. I got my meals and put in the afternoon and evening writing letters and cards for Christmas. Monday December 19th 1927 I went to the PO with a lot of mail and on up town to get more cards and other things. I wrote letters and cards all the afternoon and went to the PO about five oclock. I got a cake to send to the Boswells for Christmas dinner. I put it in a box after supper and wrote in evening. very cold. Was tired so went to bed early.
