Sunday January 1st 1928 It was frightfully cold. I was not out of my rooms which were very pleasant. Wrote W. B. Mc---, Alice Condon, Ida, Winnie and Mattie Stitt. Sent some obituary cards Jeff gave me. Got my meals and read in a book. Monday January 2nd 1928 Still very cold. I did some ironing and wrote Joe Woolf. I spent nearly all the afternoon in Mrs Doyles room listening to the radio broadcast the game from The Rose Bowl in Pasadena. I was there to see The Pageant two years ago. Wrote Edith Whetstone in evening/ Cards from Emily Toon and Ida Burkett. Two years today started west with Edith. Tuesday January 3rd 1928 I did some washing in AM. Hattie came and was here till late in the afternoon. Soon as she went home I went up town to order groceries. I changed a dish for some others. In the evening I took down curtains and put them in water. Letter from Sister Ida & Edith Mason. Wednesday January 4th 1928 I washed the curtains. Wrote a note to Jeff McColister. When ready to go to the church at eleven oclock called a taxi. A nice meeting. I did some cleaning before supper. Spent evening at Doyles listening to wonderful broadcasting by Dodge Auto Co. Thursday January 5th 1928 I ironed curtains and cleaned bed-room at 1.30 went to Loy Lee Cousins funeral. Hattie there. We each bought a dress later. Fannie took us up to Hatties. She cane back with me. We had supper and went to prayed meeting. She home by taxi.
